I am standing on the beach,
The pale light flecks silver sparks
upon the water which are quickly
drowned within the darkness.
Shadows grow long down the sands
As the wind whips sand into my face.
I huddle deeper into myself
as I drag past the high water mark
The froth seeping into the gaps between my toes
then hesitating for a fleeting moment
Before being swallowed by the sand.
The tide is coming in.
